The Risky Therapist

Psychotherapy for the complicated stuff.
When relationships, behaviour, trauma or risk become difficult to understand, you need more than a therapist who simply listens.
You need someone who understands what is happening, why it is happening, and what can be done about it.

Therapy Services for People at Risk
Hello, and a very warm welcome to my website. My name is Charlotte, and I provide a specialised counselling and safeguarding service for individuals facing risk challenges.
THIS ISN'T ORDINARY THERAPY!
Some of the hardest things to talk about are the things we are most afraid of being judged for.
A relationship that doesn't feel safe.
Behaviour you don't understand.
Patterns that keep repeating.
Anger, control, dependency or obsession.
Concerns about someone else's behaviour.
Fear about your own behaviour, toward yourself or others.
Or simply the feeling that something isn't right.
You don't have to make yourself sound better before you walk through my door.
We start with what's actually happening.
WHERE PSYCHOTHERAPY MEETS RISK AND SAFEGUARDING
My work brings together psychotherapy, safeguarding and an understanding of managing risk.
That means looking beyond the immediate problem and asking:
What's driving this?
What keeps the pattern going?
Who is at risk and what is the nature of the risk?
What needs to change?
And how can we make that change safely?
My approach is compassionate, psychological, risk and trauma informed and - most importantly, non-judgemental.
Because understanding someone's behaviour isn't the same as excusing it.
And recognising risk isn't the same as condemning someone.
